Macmillan Caring Locally White Christmas Dip

WCD Tom Neal Richard
Celebrating a record-breaking event in 2019, Neil Williams of Macmillan Caring Locally with Tom Baker and Richard Gale of the GFT, enjoying a glass of bubbly in the Christmas morning sun

Since 2008, an ever-growing band of hardy souls charge into the sea at Boscombe Pier on Christmas Day morning to raise money for Macmillan Caring Locally. Clad in all manner of fancy-dress attire, a record 1,197 people of all ages took to the sea for their 2019 ‘dip’ raising in the process, a new record of, £48,136 on the day.

Covid meant that the 2020 event was cancelled but the 2021 event is ON! The dip is organised by Gale Homes & Investments’ Tom Baker who has also recently become a trustee of the GFT. Gale Homes and Investments has been a proud sponsor and contributor to the event since the tie up with Macmillan came into being in 2013. With Tom now part of the Foundation, future sponsorship will come from the GFT.

All proceeds will go towards the Brick by Brick appeal to build a new hospital at Christchurch. If you would like to donate, sponsor or become a dipper please see the links below.
